Over 16 million American men and women served in the armed forces during the incredible conflict known as World War II.

Gus Poulin, my Dad, was a top turret gunner in a B-26 Martin Marauder, 453rd Bomb Squadron, 323rd Bombardment group, Eighth and Ninth Air Forces, in the European Theater of Operations 1943-1944.

My Uncle Joe Poulin, who was called Guy by the family in those days, (Frenchie, Tiny, or Joey by his crewmates) became a ball-turret gunner in a B-17, 390th Bomb Group, 570th Bomb Squadron, Eighth Air Force.

Uncle Neil Turcotte served as a mechanic crew chief for the P-38 Lightnings of the 432nd Fighter Squadron of the 475th Fighter Group known as Satan's Angels.
